Bioactivity:
Hecogenin is a steroid saponin isolated from Agave sisalana. It is a selective inhibitor of human UDP-glucuronosyltransferases. Hecogenin has a wide spectrum of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antifungal and gastroprotective effects[1].
