Young Donor Populations
Many cell providers compromise the quality of their cells by using primary cells from elderly, obese, or sick donors due to the difficulty of finding healthy tissue sources. StemBioSys source all of their cells from young, healthy tissue to ensure our customers have top quality cells.

Unique, Difficult to Isolate Cells
The CELLvo™ Matrix technology enables StemBioSys to efficiently isolate rare populations of cells that are difficult to isolate with other culture methods. For example, the CELLvo endothelial progenitor cells, are rare, highly angiogenic cells found in umbilical cord blood. Through use the CELLvo™ Matrix, StemBioSys can isolate and expand these cells whilst maintaining their phenotype.

Cells That Have Never Seen Plastic
Cells respond to their environment with changes in their gene expression. In many cases, these changes may be difficult to reverse. StemBiosys isolate and expand their cell products on CELLvo™ Matrix technology in order to maintain a more natural phenotype, relative to cells isolated on simple substrates.

Biologically-Relevant Phenotypes
StemBiosys only sell freshly isolated cells or early-passage cells that have been isolated and expanded on CELLvo™ Matrix to maintain a more natural phenotype. Certain cell types will no longer resemble the native population if they are passaged too far. For instance, only CELLvo™ Primary Chondrocytes exhibit the high Col2/Col1 ratio that is found in native cartilage, where as highly passaged “chondrocytes” no longer look like anything you can find in the body.

Xeno-Free Products
As part StemBioSys’s commitment to providing the most biologically-relevant tools to their customers, research, development, and manufacturing all occur xeno-free whenever possible. All mesenchymal stem cell products are isolated and cryopreserved in 100% xeno-free conditions meaning cells that have never come in contact with non-human proteins. We recommend the use of CELLvo™ XF Matrix for the continued xeno-free culture of these cells.

CELLvo™ Human Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells
CELLvo™ hBM-MSCs have been isolated and cultured under xeno-free conditions on the CELLvo™ XF Matrix. These cells proliferate more quickly, have a smaller cell size and show a higher percentage of SSEA4 (+) cells as compared to BM-MSCs isolated and cultured on other substrates.
CELLvo™ Human Adipose Mesenchymal Stem Cells
hAD-MSCs are multipotent stem cells, capable of rapid proliferation, tri-lineage differentiation, and potent immunomodulation, found in abundance in the stromal vascular fraction of adipose tissue. Currently, adipose tissue is the most common source of MSCs in clinical use.
CELLvo™ Adipose Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hAD-MSC) are isolated and cultured under xeno-free conditions on the CELLvo™ XF Matrix.
