Long Description:
Anti-Human Cytokeratin 18, 6 (clone LP34) reacts with the cytokeratin polypeptides 18 and 6, with molecular weights of 45 kDa and 56 kDa, respectively. The antibody does not react with keratins 1, 8, or 19. Anti-Cytokeratin 18, 6 reacts in cryostat sections with epithelial tissues known to contain filamentous keratins. It reacts with single glandular epithelia to stratified squamous epithelia. Anti-Cytokeratin 18,6 may be used in research studies to identify tumors as being of epithelial or mesothelial origin enabling aplastic carcinomas to be distinguished from other non-carcinoma types of tumors.1,2 The antibody may also be used to trace areas of epithelial tissue in mixed tumors.
Target:
Cytokeratin 6/18
