Collagen Related Peptide (CRP-A)
Pplus Medical's Collagen Related Peptide (CRP-A) is a stable, consistent and potent platelet activator, targeted specifically at the Glycoprotein VI (GPVI) receptor on the platelet's surface.
CRP-A is a synthetic peptide made of 3 helical double cross-linked chains by a standardised peptide manufacturing process, guaranteeing a batch-to-batch purity of nearly 99% and a high dose response.
The high potency of CRP-A to aggregate and activate platelets has been demonstrated using Light Transmission Aggregometry and p-selectin expression by Flow Cytometry.
CRP-A has been proven to have biological and chemical stability for both long term storage as a lyophilised powder and short-term storage as a reconstituted working solution.
CRP-A is suitable for use with 3 different solvents - acetic acid, saline solution and water - to suit a range of experimental requirements.
Digital Storage Device (DSD)
Pplus Medical's Digital Storage Device (DSD) is an electromechanical device that provides a constant motion (at the correct speed and agitation type) and maintains the required temperature for the storage of blood platelets for 7 days.
This patented and CE marked device is the culmination of over seven years of research, testing and development in collaboration with several universities and laboratories in Europe.
Advantages of the DSD:
- Creates optimal conditions for the storage of platelets
- Can store up to 14 ampoules of platelets
- Keeps platelets functional for longer
- Removes the need for cooling and freezing of platelets for up to 7 days
- Can reduce the number of blood donors required for drug discovery applications
- Rechargeable battery and/or mains power operated
- Suitable for storing PRP and isolated platelets from human & murine sources
- Reduces time consuming need to repeatedly obtain & process new blood samples each day
- No abrupt stopping but a gentle decrease of motion upon opening the device so as not to damage samples
